Evel Knievel Jump Site in Twin Falls

Since we were in the area, Scott wanted to go to the Even Knievel Jump Site where Robert Craig "Evel" Knievel attempted to jump over the Snake River Canyon - what he thought would be his most spectacular stunt of his life.

He invested about 1 million dollars into constructing this steep ramp (on which were cement footings to hold the actual ramp he used - a few of which are still there), which Knievel would ride his X-2 Skycycle rocket up to jump this canyon. He rocketed up the ramp at over 300 miles an hour and took off, only to have his parachute deploy too early and cause him to float harmlessly to the ground. A failed attempt.
